This course course aims to cover a wide variety of topics in Excel and VBA that are required when moving from foundation applications to a more advanced level. A large range of applications and issues are covered through the examples. A key theme is methodologies required to formulate and build flexible and dynamic models. This manifests itself in many more advanced applications, such as rapid data manipulation and analysis, creating flexible time axes or time-shifting, integration of database approaches with more traditional modelling techniques, and the creation of highly flexible and transparent models using user-defined functions or automation techniques and macros. Such techniques are often required also for simulation and optimisation modelling.
